Blue Voter Guide

I imagine most of us are voting blue, no matter who. Still, sometimes it’s hard to know how to vote on judges, school board members, ballot initiatives, etc. But here is a website that asks where you live, then shows your entire ballot, and tells you which groups are encouraging you to vote on different issues and candidates, but it’s geared completely toward Democrats. I plan to bookmark it, and look at it more as the next election gets closer. It seems right to share this with my brothers and sisters here at DU. So check out

The GOP doesn't want you to know the true number of undocumented immigrants

Republicans (and to a somewhat lesser extent, Democrats) have given Americans the impression that we’ve been experiencing an “invasion” at our borders. But a new Pew Research Center report released Thursday not only shatters that myth but also reveals that the opposite is true. According to the report, the country’s unauthorized immigrant population peaked at 12.2 million in 2007, that is, when George W. Bush was president, and that population has been steadily decreasing since then. The Pew report found that the unauthorized immigrant population in the United States stood at 10.5 million in 2021, a 14% decrease from what it was in 2007.

When Russia’s military equipment in Ukraine proved second-rate, I suspected their nukes might not be operational, so I searched online and found this. I’m hoping someone here can confirm or disprove the numbers and the science in the article, since I’m unfamiliar with the source. I accidentally posted a fake story recently, and people here were good enough to call me out on it, thus showing one of the basic differences between Democrats and Republicans.
